Sierra Club meeting. Sunday, June 8
Courtney Eparvier, Curator at the Audubon Zoo, will discuss
the Palm Oil crisis. it's production, it's global impact, efforts being made to
slow down deforestation, and what consumers can do to help.
Countless acres of tropical forests are being destroyed to
make way for palm oil plantations. The existence of tropical forests,
orangutans and other wildlife is threatened. Palm oil is an ingredient in many
candies and other food products.
