Using Your Voice for our Environment in Louisiana

Louisiana Legislature Early Update, Sign up for Legislative Action List

The Delta Chapter of the Sierra Club works at a statewide level on issues of concerns to Sierra Club members in Louisiana.  Chapter Chair Woody Martin coordinates our mother chapter's Legislative Action Team to bring some environmental progress-minded citizen advocacy to Baton Rouge.  The Chapter's L.A.T. also is attentive to regulatory issues held in public hearing by the executive agencies of government, as well as the Public Service Commission which regulates utilities here in the State (excepting utilities in City of New Orleans boundaries.)

To get involved in the very important work of this volunteer team during what will be the most important legislative sessions in decades, visit the following link to read the Early Update and to get signed up today.  http://lasierraclub.org/node/359

Common Sense Solutions to Waste, Litter and Pollution at the City Level

The New Orleans Group of the Sierra Club welcomes Max Ciolino from No Waste NOLA for our February 21, 2015 meeting. Max will speak about much needed waste reduction initiatives that would provide needed sustainability improvements for New Orleans. http://www.nowastenola.org/

No Waste describes their work, saying that "Starting off 2016, we are really excited about everything this year will bring. No Waste NOLA is not just a small collection of advocates, but a community of New Orleanians that are eager to see common-sense waste reduction programs implemented in this city. We hope you will work with us in the fight for a sustainable New Orleans!"
